Tony Schiavone is in the ring and brings out CM Punk. Punk comes to the ring with his red bag which seemingly holds the AEW Championship he never lost. Schiavone asks Punk what’s in the bag. Punk says there’s been a lot of things going on in All Elite Wrestling and AEW Collision that no one wants to talk about. Punk teases that he’ll be competing at AEW All In next month at Wembley Stadium.
CM Punk says Ricky Starks has beaten him twice now, once in a singles match and once in a tag match. But he wants to know if Starks can deal with the fact that he had to cheat both times to win. Punk opens the bag and reveals his AEW World Championship and calls himself the real world champion.
Punk says no one has beaten or submitted him for this title and it has his name and blood on it. Punk spray paints an X on the AEW Championship and explains the significance of the logo that’s followed him since the beginning. Punk again says he’s the real-world champion.
Ricky Starks interrupts Punk and tells everyone to play his music. Starks gets in the ring and tells Punk he told a great story but to be honest with him, Starks is sold on gold right now. Starks says regardless of how he feels about things, he did the exact same thing Punk would have done. He just did it first.
Starks says the title on Punk’s shoulder should be his because he’s already beaten him twice. Starks says not only is he the real AEW World Champion, he’s also the face of AEW Collision.
Punk asks him if he’s the face of AEW Collision or if he’s the face of cheating. Punk blames the referees for his losses. Punk says it seems like Starks wants a title shot, Starks says he deserves one.
CM Punk says if he faces Ricky Starks for the title, he wants there to be a special guest referee. Starks says that’s great because Punk has no friends and if he has to go get someone from Stamford to help him, so be it.
Punk confirms he made a call and it is someone from his past who will referee the match. Starks and Punk shake hands, there will be a title match next week on AEW Collision. Tony Schiavone announces the special guest referee for next week’s match is Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.
